About this guide
Independent reporting, cited fares, and a named way to reach the publisher.
Who writes Visit Athens
Visit Athens is an independent guide for the first visit and the second. We start from timed Acropolis entry and the €1.20 urban ticket, not from a list of ‘hidden gems’. We are not the City of Athens and not a tour operator.
The site exists because generic round-ups skip the numbers that actually decide a day: which bus, which ticket window, which closing time. The Acropolis, the museums around it, walkable neighbourhoods and the gateway to Delphi and the islands are the reasons people come; the fares and hours are why they need a guide that can be checked.
Contact: hello@visitathens.city. Corrections and broken-link reports go to the same address. Photo licences live on credits.
How we verify facts
City facts — names, fares, phones, coordinates — live in one config file and are copied into pages. If a number cannot be sourced, we write “check locally” instead of guessing. OASA ticket prices come from oasa.gr; airport taxi flats from aia.gr; Acropolis tickets from hhticket.gr / odysseus.culture.gr. Check date on this site: August 2026.
We do not invent restaurant or hotel names. We describe areas, dishes and price bands. When a page says “checked August 2026”, that is the last pass against the official page, not a promise the operator will never change a timetable.
Ads, affiliates and what we will not do
Visit Athens may show advertising (including Google AdSense when the site is approved) and may earn a commission from booking links. Those links sit in marked partner slots. We do not sell editorial mentions of hotels or tours. We are not affiliated with the Municipality of Athens.
Privacy details — cookies, analytics, ads — are on the privacy policy. How to reach us: contact.
About this site
Is Visit Athens the official tourism site?
No. This is an independent guide. The official municipal body is the Municipality of Athens. We cite official operator pages for fares and hours; we do not speak for them.
How often are prices updated?
Practical numbers were last verified August 2026 and dated inline. Operators change timetables without notice. If a source page disagrees with us, trust the source and email hello@visitathens.city so we can patch the page.
How do I report a mistake?
Email hello@visitathens.city with the page address, the wrong number, and a link to the official page. That is the fastest path. We do not take corrections via hotel WhatsApp or anonymous forms.
